Our 118th Holiday Season opened with all the pomp and grandeur befitting the occasion with Kaufmann's 9th annual "Celebrate the Season" parade and the incredible White House exhibit, unveiled by none other than, First Lady, Barbara Bush!
HOLIDAY HOOPLA!
This year's Grand Marshall, Fred Flintstone, flew in from Bedrock to lead the parade. Children of all ages cheered "Yabba—Dabba—Do" as they were delighted by the sights and sounds of over 20 floats, high-school marching bands and local as well as national celebrities like: Blair Underwood ("LA Law"), Alaina Reed Hall ("227"), Jon Provost ("Lassie"), Harry Groener ("Dear John"), Alex Trabeck ("Jeopardy"), Sandi Ferguson ("Another World"), and the World Wrestling Federation's Dusty Rhodes to mention a few. Five giant inflatables including P.J. Funny Bunny, Itsy & Bitsy-The Baby Penguins and Twinkles—The Teddy Bear added to the excitement.
Handling balloons, dressing as clowns, and chauffeuring the stars: Kaufmann's Associates and their friends volunteered to help the Tri-State Area "Celebrate the Season".
Barbara Bush feels right at home as she views the Oval Offices and the State Dinner Room displays which included actual White House place settings for 120, chairs made of tapestry and authentic floral arrangements!
L-R Mrs. William T Tobin, First Lady—Barbara Bush, Mr. William T. Tobin, Mr. Gerald Sampson and Mrs. Gerald Sampson experienced the beauty and history of the White House right here in Kaufmann's Downtown Store 11th Floor Auditorium!
